Meeces...how I love them to Pieces.....!!!

At Last...we have completed our little Micers....or is that Meeces...or is it Mousies???!!! We are happy with their outcome...although I must tell you that photos do not do these little creatures justice... it is funny...sometimes you can create something that for some reason...they never quite translate properly through photos...ya kinda have to be there in person to see the soul.... unfortunately this is one of those pieces....They stand just at 6 " ... sculpted in polymer clay and painted. I made authentic Japanese clothing and Richard made tabi's and zoris. Richard made the little Plum Blossom branch from a carved branch and hand cut and painted paper.

They will be on a base....

Their story is one of Fairy Tale and Romance....(I will have the whole story on the EBAY listing) ..basically 'Itsuki' (the boy...whose name means 'Tree') and Saki (whose name means 'Blossom') ...are in love...and Itsuki works for the Royal Arborist ...and when spring first comes Itsuki (being a mouse) is able to climb the very First Plum Tree to bloom ...and reach the tallest tip top branch to pluck the very first blossoms for his beloved... the sweetest smell on earth.... this is their ritual...his love for her.

Now to let you in on a little secret... This was a special piece I wanted to do....even Richard was not aware of it... it is basically a piece about 'Us' .... since I have known Richard (almost 35 years)...he has 'plucked' the first blossoms off of trees for me...Apple, cherry, plum etc..... and given them to me...he knows how I love the smell.... and it has become our ritual over the years...now matter where we have lived...even here in the desert. So with our 34th anniversary coming in a few days I wanted to create this piece... Richard made the connection when I asked him to make a tiny Plum Blossom Branch....smiling ear to ear...I got a BIG hug and kiss out of that...lol!

So that's the story of 'Itsuki' (Richard) and 'Saki' (Jodi)....

Have a great Weekend Everyone...

Been Tagged Again.....

Apparently I can Run...but can't Hide from the 'Tag Attack'!!!! and of course...I cannot ignore a touch on the shoulder with those sweet tones of " YOUR IT" ... soooooo I Thank Vicky at http://njdminiatures.blogspot.com/ ...who has a Wonderful blog filled with Oodles of creative art work (check out her Sorting Hat...Brilliant)

Now I must list six unimportant things that make me happy ...

So many things...so little time...here goes (and I hope I won't repeat myself from before)...

1.) Hearing the singing Birdies waking up outside when it is not even quite light yet (like right now)

2.) Anticipation of that first pot of coffee being made...and the smell wafting through the house (soon to happen)

3.) Having all my thoughts in a row and to have them flow perfectly from the back wash of my gray matter to paper...seamlessly! (which is what I am hoping will happen AFTER that first pot of coffee) need to write a story today....

4.) Watching my Tess sleep at my feet as I type...I got up to early this morning and she is just not ready to get active yet.....oh wait...I am hearing Snoring now!!!! Such a sweet Pup

5.) Dipping my big toe in the pool in hopes that today...it will be warm enough to swim...been too cold for me.....I like a semi hot pool...and even though it is 106 outside...the pool remains at 80....brrrrrrrr.

6.) Hearing Richard stirring and getting up in the morning....brings a smile to my face each time....and now knowing I can start that pot of coffee and go outside to greet the dawn and watch the birdies as they sing...and all as they say...is right with the world!!

Now I won't tag anyone...Unless you wish to pick up where I left off and list some favorite things of your own...but I would invite anyone reading this to look to the right of your screen at my list of blogs and visit some of the wonderful sites I have there.... you will be amazed!!!

Now go forth and tap a shoulder.....

Mices,Meeces,Mousers....

Well just a quick sneak preview of what we have been working on for EBAY ...keeping fingers crossed for a Friday Listing. Not really going to say much more other than 'They are in love' ...lol! This little couple stands a mere 6 inches tall. I LOVE doing animals .... this is only our second and third mouse character, the first being the 'Dormouse' from Alice in Wonderland. I did something I never do on a doll...applied Eyelashes to the little Lady Mousie, I have not applied eyelashes since 1970 when I went out dancing and lost one of them somewhere on the dance floor, only to find in horror that it was stuck to my dates shirt sleeve ??? I swear...those things use to just 'fly off' at will.... and ALWAYS at the most inopportune times... so needless to say I was having weird 'flashbacks' when applying these 'little' suckers... my word of advice to 'Miss Mouse'...NO DANCING!!!

OK...off to finish dressed this happy little couple...

Thanks everyone for your Super Nice comments on the D.D. Award .... and Thanks for being my B.B.B. (Bestest Blog Buddies)..

Have a Wickedly Wonderful Wednesday...

P.S. Just had a quick little note to add.... In thinking more about this award ...I want to add a few thoughts... This is not only a 'Thanks' award... but also an Award of 'Friendship'...this is one of the reason I chose to create the award with Dahlia, Scruff and Cybil...I created these dolls at a very interesting time in my life... a cathartic turning point you might say... this is a character that has lived inside of me for a very long time (since childhood really) it is in truth a big part of me in that 'Friendship is VERY important to Dahlia ...and that no matter where she goes...or how alone she feels she knows she can always rely on Friendship .... So please know that this is not only an Award of Thanks.... but also Friendship...
